This volume includes the first publication of Flinders' Narrative from the manuscript held in the Public Library of Victoria. The Introduction features a glaring typo in the fourth line, giving the date of the voyage as 1788, the year Sydney was founded and seven years before Flinders reached Australia. Strangely, this usually escapes attention. An interesting light shone on the early exploration of Australia and with the benefit of fine presswork and John Buckland Wright's illustrations.
