Corner tips bumped. Bookseller's ink stamp to fly. Contents clean. Very good +. Item #4392

About one hundred and fifty new photographs were added to this edition to make the series of villas and gardens more comprehensive. The original text, with its valuable historical notes and delightfully told stories of the people who lived in these old palaces and gardens, has been supplemented with Bolton's architectural notes throughout, to enlarge the sections on Roman and Florentine examples and to provide entirely new chapters on the villas and gardens of Venetia, the lake district and Genoa.
