Barnett Freedman.

London: Art and Technics Ltd, 1948. 8vo. First edition. Original blue cloth, gilt. Illustrated throughout in black and white. "The choice of the illustrations has been made with the object of representing the complete range of Barnett Freedman's work in black-and-white." Ink presentation on half-title, 'to Humphrey from Barnett May 1948'. The jacket is in two large pieces separated at the spine. (A portion of the front panel is loosely inserted.) It is torn, creased, chipped, lightly foxed and stained. Near fine in poor d/w. Item #5223

Part of the English Masters of Black-and-White series edited by Graham Reynolds. Barnett Freedman seems to have made an occasional habit of presenting copies of this book to his friends. I had one presented to Randolph Schwabe who was a Slade Professor of Fine Art for 18 years. I have been unable to identify 'Humphrey'.
