These specially bound copies of 'Signs of the Times' are for presentation to those dining at the Garrick Club on January 23rd 1964 in honour of, and gratitude for, Osbert's 25 years of cartoonery. Loosely inserted is the menu for that dinner including an illustration of The Countess of Littlehampton drinking to the 25th anniversary of the first Osbert Lancaster cartoon in the Daily Express of 3rd January 1939. A scrap of blue notepaper lists those present. They included Peter Fleming, Jock Murray, John Carter, Rupert Hart-Davis, Christopher Hussey, Tom Driberg, John Betjeman, Tony Powell, John Piper and John Rayner. Illustrated throughout by the author. Spine slightly faded. Menu a little foxed. The adhesive for the note on the fly has dried leaving it detached. Item #5857
