Double page illustrations from Botticelli's drawings in Berlin and Rome. Front board slightly warped by the vellum shrinking. Spine partially faded. A few light marks to both boards and slight rubbing to the extremities. Contents clean and fresh. Near fine. Item #6174
A lovely copy with much less warping and fading than is often the case. The Cary translation, familiar to the Romantic poets, in parallel with Dante's original verse and beautifully combined with Botticelli's drawings.
