London: Humphrey Milford, Oxford University Press, 1944-51. Pott 8vo. 4 volumes, set. Volumes 1 & II are first editions, volumes III & IV are reprints. Original blind-stamped navy cloth, gilt. Volume 1 is faded on the spine and has a neat ink ownership on the fly. Volume 2 has a repaired tear to the top of the d/w spine. Volumes 3 & 4 have neat ink ownerships on the front pastedowns (under the jacket flaps) and the d/ws are price-clipped. Volume 3 has a large tear to the d/w spine and back panel and small loss to the top edge. Generally very good + in good + d/ws. Item #6557
