'High Street' is one of the most collectable artist's books of the pre-Second World War period. It consists of twenty-four colour lithographs by Eric Ravilious with a text by J.M. Richards. The illustrations were taken from real shops. The plates were destroyed in the Blitz, by which time only two thousand copies had been printed. This volume reprints the entire work and has essays which set the book in its historical context and try to identify the featured businesses.
