A lovely copy of what 'is probably the greatest novel in the Serbo-Croat language'. Ivo Andric (1892-1975) won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1961. This, his most famous novel, was written in 1942-3 and published in 1945 after the end of the German occupation of Yugoslavia.
