Colour frontispiece of Tenzing Norgay on the Summit of Everest, 29th May, 1953, and colour and black and white photographic plates. Foxing to the top and fore edges which occasionally encroaches on the tops of some pages throughout. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Signed in black ink to the half title by John Hunt and Sir Edmund Hillary. In addition, plate 29 is signed by Griffith Pugh the expedition physiologist. Unclipped d/w is a little rubbed along the top edge with tiny loss to the spine head and the corner tips. There is a very short closed tear to the bottom edge of the back panel. Very good in very good d/w. Item #7781

Since Sir Edmund Hillary contributed chapter 16 (The Summit), he was the co-author of this account. Copies signed by John Hunt are relatively common. Copies signed by both authors are much scarcer.
