Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. Gilt dentelles and marbled paper endpapers. The original green cloth spine and covers are bound in at the back. Illustrated by lithographs and wood engravings by L. Haghe, T. Landseer, and S. Williams, from paintings by Sir David Wilkie, Edwin Landseer, R.A., Charles Landseer, William Simson, and Edward Cooke. Armorial bookplate of Cyril Bennett Baker on front pastedown. Preliminaries, including the half-title, frontispiece and title page, slightly foxed but otherwise the contents are clean. Near fine.
