Rebound by Riviere in half brown crushed morocco, ruled and lettered in gilt, over floral pattern boards and matching endpapers. Top edges gilt. Illustrated throughout. All volumes very slightly faded on the spines. A little rubbing to the edges. Some foxing to the text block edges and prelims of most volumes. Neat ink presentation on the half-title of each volume of The Stones of Venice. Near fine. Item #8657
The Stones of Venice were given one volume at a time at Christmas 1907-9. They must have been bound soon afterwards and the nine volumes now make a very attractive collection of two of Ruskin's best-known works. Very presentable in this beautifully restrained and sympathetic binding.
