London: The Nonesuch Press, 1935. 8vo. Limited edition. #458 of 650 copies. Rebound in full black morocco with emblem embossed to front board, stamped with gilt and with red leather onlays. Gilt to spine. Top edge gilt. Marbled endpapers. 120 collotype reproductions of pages from the manuscript. Fine. Item #9163
The first facsimile to be made of this note-book (now in the British Library) which originally belonged to William Blake's younger brother Robert. When Robert died in 1787, the note-book was used by William, both as a sketch book and for poems, including The Everlasting Gospel. The unsigned binding is smart and suitably Blakean.
